IAASF Cultural Protection Awards

The IAASF steering committee has identified that lots of great work is being undertaken globally to protect and preserve cultural heritage. On that basis, a decision has been taken to recognise outstanding contributions made within the arts, heritage, and cultural sectors by awarding individuals, organisations, or projects judged most beneficial to the preservation of our art and cultural heritage for future generations.

If you believe that you (or somebody you would like to nominate) have contributed to the protection and preservation of cultural heritage in the last 12 months, we want to hear from you. Applications are open within the four categories shown below and must be received no later than 5 pm (UK time) on Monday the 23rd of September 2024 (multiple applications are accepted).

Cultural Heritage Protection Initiative:

This award will recognise a national or international initiative that can clearly demonstrate a positive and proactive impact on the protection of cultural heritage.

Cultural Protection Ambassador:

This award recognises an individual who has gone above and beyond the call of duty to support and develop strategies, programmes, and other activities which protect and preserve our global cultural heritage.

Young Cultural Protection Leader:

This award category is open to individuals (under 30) who have demonstrated initiative, leadership, and a desire to protect cultural heritage in whatever form it presents itself.

Cultural Protection Training Initiative:

This award recognises the individual, team, or organisation who have adopted a proactive approach to the protection and preservation of arts and cultural heritage. This successful recipient will demonstrate a multisector outreach that positively enables the protection of artefacts, collections, or other cultural heritage assets.

Submissions can be made by individuals, organisations, or by third parties acting on behalf of a named individual or organisation. All shortlisted nominations will be informed by the 2nd of October 2024 with the winners being announced during the IAASF Gala Dinner on the 16th of October 2024.
