Hospitality Sector - Security Training & Education Services
The hospitality sector has to open its doors to customers, in doing so some of the barriers that help protect venues are removed. Where this occurs it is important to enhance the levels of training and education given to staff in support of security risk management activities.
Our Hospitality Programmes
With the volume of public interface within the hospitality sector the delivery of training and educational programmes that consider customer care alongside any security risk management programmes is important. Trident Manor is acutely aware of the need to strike a balanced approach that provides clients with effective measures whilst adopting a low profile that does not impact the clients customers pleasure time.
Trident Manor is an advocate of ensuring a security culture is created with involvement across all organisational teams, this is especially important within the hospitality sector where overt security presences may not send the correct message to customers.
The following are some of the main training and education programmes offered to the hospitality sector:
Situational Awareness Workshop: Having a team that is vigilant and alert to the threats and risks that exist within the hospitality sector provides an additional layer of security. This programme is suitable for all members of staff and has been designed to proactively involve everybody in helping identify and taking steps to reduce the risks that exist. The half day workshop increases awareness levels of the threats that can impact venue and organisations and provides proactive steps that can take to reduce and manage the risks faced.
Behavioural Analysis Workshop: This workshop is designed for those hospitality staff who are involved in security activities or are front of house and customer facing. It provides the attendees with an ability to critically analyse behavioural activities in order to identify possible digressions from normal or expected activities. The workshop is especially beneficial for those organisations responsible for stewardship of sporting events or crowded spaces.
PSSW™ (Personal Safety & Security Workshop): This well established programme has been delivered to organisations where staff are at an increased risk of violence, threats and intimidation. The programme centres around conflict identification and avoidance instead of managing a situation where conflict already exists. Organisations sending staff on this workshop can be confident they are giving staff valuable personal security skills but are also demonstrating a proactive approach to duty of care obligations.
Emergency Planning Training: Having emergency plans is a positive step to managing organisational risks but have a limited use if not practised and exercised. Trident Manor works with clients to introduce phased learning experiences for those involved in emergency or crisis responses within the hospitality industry. Following a review of the plans ‘tabletop’ exercises are undertaken before progressing onto partial or full exercises. After each stage of the training an evaluation and review takes place to improve or reduce vulnerabilities and ensure clients exposure to risks are being met.
Workplace Violence Workshop: The hospitality sector through its public interaction is more prone to incidents of workplace violence than many other industries. The workshop helps delegates understand the threat sources that exist whether internal or external threats and provides sensible solutions for managing and mitigating the impact of such actions. By increasing the levels of awareness organisations can be more proactive at protecting their staff and minimising their exposure to operational disruption and reputational damage.
