Cultural Protection Training in Devon
Thursday, 10th July 2025

In July 2025, the Trident Manor team delivered the CPD-accredited Introduction to the Protection of Cultural Venues programme at an iconic heritage venue in Devon.
The client requested the training delivery in preparation for the opening of a new museum gallery at the site. The programme content is aimed at all individuals who work at cultural venues.
Several new members of staff have recently joined this organisation, and they took part in the training as part of their induction and as a way of instilling the importance of protection in their new roles. Other senior members of the front-of-house, curatorial, and security teams also took part in the training and were able to take away valuable information.
“One of the main points we aim to drive home in this programme is the fact that cultural protection is everybody’s responsibility, not just security staff”, says Hannah Miller, who delivered the training. “It was great to see this particular venue enabling an increased awareness and understanding of roles and responsibilities so early on in the induction of some of the newer members of staff. Staff who have been with the organisation for several years were also able to learn and contribute to the session, which enriched the group discussions and sharing of experiences.”
Enabling training early on in the life of an exhibition helps create a positive security culture within the team. We were delighted to see this initiative and forward-thinking approach being taken by the client.
