Security Review at an Archaeological Museum
Friday, 18th July 2025

The Trident Manor team conducted a security review at a museum containing items of archaeological importance.
When undertaking security reviews, it is important to consider the impact of all threat sources. For example, while protester or terrorist threats may be lower at an archaeological museum outside of any major cities, there may be an increased risk of organised crime or burglary due to the presence of precious metals and the isolation of the venue.
It is essential to ensure that all security assessments are risk-based, meaning that they consider realistic threats specific to the venue in question. It is only then that sensible and proportionate solutions can be provided, reducing risks while considering the nature and requirements of the venue. This requires a degree of lateral thinking, or thinking ‘outside the box’ in some cases.
