Security Reviews come in all shapes and sizes. Sometimes it is a pleasure to visit a location and work to protect historical artefacts, especially when there is so much provenance surrounding them.

Andy Davis, our MD, visited a small rural library to undertake a security review on behalf of a national organisation. He returned, describing the venue as a hidden gem that told a thousand stories (quite literally). When considering the threats that exist, there are so many factors to consider, but most importantly, it is the contextualisation of the venue, its activities, location, assets within, staffing levels, and emergency responses. 

There should never be a one-size-fits-all protective security solution because all venues and the risks that exist are different. In this instance, the monetary value of the assets may not be that great, but the historical stories they tell are priceless and enable such a great understanding of regional social history.

As for the threats....mice and insects! Not a masked adversary, but nature's own creatures that can certainly be more destructive than nearly all other threats, save fire.
