Storage Building Security Review

Trident Manor was invited to conduct a security review of the cultural collections stores of a local council in England. The stores serve multiple museums within the area, which means they contain a wide variety of different collections that have different security requirements.

This storage facility is particularly special, as it is contained within a historic building itself. While this is an excellent way to preserve and use buildings that form part of a region’s social fabric, it can also present challenges regarding the flexibility and robustness of the security measures in place.

Trident Manor was pleased to be able to provide some operational recommendations that would help improve the building’s security. While upgrades in security technology and physical elements can often be very useful, this is not always possible for local council-run buildings with a limited budget. In many cases, improvements in operational practices can provide “quick wins” that make a big difference, and even lead to changes in a venue’s security culture.
