Supporting Local Business in Sunderland
Friday, 6th November 2026
At the end of October, members of the Trident Manor team travelled to Sunderland to provide free support to a local business in the city centre as part of our annual social outreach objectives. As part of the visit, the team conducted a comprehensive security review, helping the organisation better understand its risks and identify opportunities to strengthen its protective measures.
The team approached the review with an awareness of the threats and vulnerabilities that can affect businesses operating in busy urban environments. The assessment began with an examination of the surrounding area, identifying potential risks and considering practical measures that could be implemented to reduce them.
The review then focused on the site's external security measures, including both physical and technical controls, before progressing inside the building. By assessing the effectiveness of existing systems and infrastructure, the team was able to develop a clear picture of the site's overall security posture.
A key part of the assessment involved engaging with staff to understand the day-to-day operational practices. These conversations provided valuable insight into how security procedures are applied in practice and highlighted areas where further improvements could be made.
Given the location of the site within a city centre, particular attention was paid to staff safety. The team considered factors such as lighting levels around the premises, especially as shorter winter days and earlier sunsets can increase feelings of vulnerabilities and create opportunities for opportunistic crime.
Through reviews such as this, Trident Manor continues to support organisations in identifying security risks, strengthening resilience, and creating safer environments for employees, customers, and visitors alike.
