The Trident Manor team has been invited to deliver Personal Safety and Security Workshops (PSSW) for a Waste Management facility with sites across the North East of England.

Members of staff from various sites gathered to learn about the threats that can impact them at the workplace, how to look out for them, conflict avoidance, and post-incident actions.

Through the discussions during the sessions, the importance of effective communication and self-preservation was highlighted through the content and different experiences shared by the participants. In customer-facing roles, reactions from the public can be unpredictable, and when situations appear to be escalating it is always preferable to step back before they become unmanageable.

The benefits of reporting and recording incidents or near misses were also covered. Unlike in Health and Safety, near misses in Personal Security are often not recorded. The reporting and sharing of information can help in the identification of patterns and can lead to keeping others safe.
