Security Visits Across the North of England
Wednesday, 4th June 2025

Last month, the Trident Manor team conducted security risk assessments at several cultural venues across the North of England, including an art gallery in a city centre in Yorkshire, an art gallery in a town in County Durham, and a military museum in a town in North Yorkshire.
Two of the venues were purpose-built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries to hold collections by famous Philanthropists, while the third venue was a converted church. All three buildings have listed status, which can impact the implementation of physical and technical security measures.
While there were similarities in the ages and the challenges of each of these venues, the context in which each building was operating in was unique, which made the risk assessments all the more interesting. Hannah Miller, Junior Security Consultant for Trident Manor, said: "It was great to see how the three galleries and museums have succeeded in protecting their buildings and their collections, while also making their exhibits accessible to the local community and attracting visitors from across the UK."
