Trident Manor Becomes First to Complete New Level 4 Protective Security Adviser Programme
Friday, 5th December 2025
Yesterday saw the final day of Trident Manor Training Academy's first delivery of the SFJ Awards Level 4 Protective Security Adviser programme. Trident Manor Limited is proud to be the First to complete this brand new programme that was supported by governmental agencies.
The last in-person week saw the learners involved in a security investigation that led to an NTS (Non-technical search), during which three listening devices and an audio-video device were concealed... only a limited success in finding them ???? which led to great debates and discussions. Following this, the final exercise required the learners to undertake a threat, risk, and vulnerability assessment of a site unknown to all learners, list protective security recommendations, complete a risk register/rating table for the venue, and write a Security Plan, all in two days.
It was great to see the learners demonstrate understanding of processes, questioning skills, consideration of costs and benefits, and the provision of risk-based solutions, especially as all these areas form part of the programme.
It is not easy, and completing it in three months requires determination and hard work; not everybody will pass (through Trident Manor), but there will be great learning opportunities and experiences. The feedback has been exceptional. The following are just some of the comments that were shared:
1. "A great learning opportunity that has helped me increase my knowledge about threats, mitigation measures, legislation and operational plans."
2. "The PSRM process was EXCELLENT,"
3, "The final TRV exercise was brilliant"
4. " I found the course extremely valuable because it successfully brought all the security disciplines together and clearly showed the interdependencies between them."
I want to thank all of the learners for their commitment and dedication. I do need to thank the Trident Manor Limited team for helping pull this together (and for tolerating me throughout the last six months), and the Business Central team of Vanessa Wood, Daniel Sanderson, Ian Frostwick, and others at our offices for their great support and assistance.
We are looking forward to the next programme, which will start in April 2026 and will be delivered by CSyP or RSES members at our HQ in Darlington. Further details will be shared by Catharine McLaren.
